Recovery phrase

When you create a vault, Krypli gives you a recovery phrase. Save it somewhere safe outside your iPhone before you finish setup.

If you forget your pattern

Use your saved phrase to recover access to an existing vault and choose a new pattern. Keep the phrase private. Anyone with the phrase and the corresponding vault data may be able to open that vault.

If you lose your phone

You need both an encrypted backup and its matching recovery phrase to restore your files. A phrase cannot recreate missing vault data by itself.

Keep the right phrase with each backup

Krypli lets you replace a vault’s recovery phrase after you save and confirm the new one. Earlier exported backups still need their original phrase. Store each phrase securely and make sure you know which backup it belongs to.
