Encrypted backups

A backup gives you another encrypted copy of your vault. Keep the backup and its matching recovery phrase so you can restore your files when you need them.

Export an encrypted backup

Save a backup file to a location you choose through the iPhone Files interface. Store it somewhere you can reach if your phone is lost or replaced. The exported backup is encrypted; the recovery phrase should be kept separately.

Optional iCloud backup

Krypli Premium includes encrypted iCloud backup. It uses your iCloud account and transfers encrypted vault data. Cloud backup is optional, so you can keep using a local vault without enabling it.

Automatic backup, when enabled, depends on iOS background scheduling and network availability. Check the backup status in Krypli rather than assuming a recent change has already been uploaded.

Before changing phones

Make a current backup, keep its recovery phrase and check that you can access both. Restoring on another iPhone requires the encrypted backup and its matching phrase.
